The TC journey Map represents the customer journey experienced when building and delivering platform services. This is a analogy of the approach and experience we have had with many industries and customers who are building new platforms, services and improved IT capabilities from VMware technology.

Each zone has a purpose and can be delivered at any time. However, the preferred approach is to move from “Accelerate to Value” to the next most applicable zone. If the customer is already managing a platform but wants to either improve current capabilities or modernize teams and build new services using agile practices

ZONE OVERVIEW

Accelerate to Value

This zone is intended to ensure that the customer is thinking and building platform products against an agreed vision. Customers should start by articulating a strategy and vision for the platform focused on customer value. Each station is intended to be a point of reflection for a customer to understand how confident they are that they have indeed considered all the aspects of the platform and its services against customer expectations for value, where we would expect a clear description of customer types, challenges to be addressed, benefits to be gained, and agreed desired outcomes from both consumers and IT.

Once this is well described and agreed upon, the “People & Culture” stream starts to ensure that the customer is, from an early stage, already starting to think of the people changes (IT and business) that might be required or recommended to align and bring in the right stakeholders into the conversation and planning.

Efficient Platform Capabilities

Tactical elements that can be addressed for current services should lead to a review for additional value or opportunity: “Inspect, Adapt, Evolve.”

Velocity and Scale

Opportunity to build new services and capabilities, evolve the platform using new methodologies and practices, and respond to consumer needs.

Again, any changes mean “Inspect, Adapt, Evolve” to review platform capabilities or a new opportunity for the roadmap.
